City of Lake Dallas- Lake Cities Station Planning


In the Fall of 2009, Alex Payne became aware that the City of Lake Dallas was interested in joining the Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) in an effort to get a rail stop along the A-Train corridor under construction. Aware of a prime property along that corridor that could be purchased for redevelopment, he approached the City of Lake Dallas with the idea. The city and the Economic Development Authority jointly hired Alex as their consultant and representative. Axis Realty Group partnered with Catalyst Urban Development on the project. An in-depth market study was completed first, then conceptual planning, community meetings and formal presentations of findings were made. The team also conduted several meetings with local officials of the City, County Commissioners, reprentatives of DCTA, prospective corporate tenants and financing agencies and worked to find solutions to bring the City of Lake Dallas a rail station and first class mixed-use development.
